PictureCoach Garfield Thompson
Coach Garfield Thompson is the Executive Director of the McKim Center and the McKim Community Association, Inc. A father and lifelong advocate for the athletic and academic enrichment of youth, Coach Garfield is a regional leader in athletic coaching, teaching, and administration. Born in Jamaica, he is also a leader in the integration of athletic training with holistic education.

A champion of peacemaking and "whole community" services, Coach Garfield grew up at the McKim Center where he trained as a wrestler. He has been involved in the life of McKim for 30-plus years. A graduate of
Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Hampton University. His first coaching position was as a Graduate Assistant for Women's Track & Field and Cross-Country at Hampton University. He completed coursework towards an MS in Exercise Science from McDaniel College. He is a Registered Athletic Director; a Certified USATF Level II Coach; and a former Certified MPSSAA Educator. 

Coach Garfield previously served as the Athletic Director at the Odyssey School; the Athletic Director at Maritime Academy, the National Academy Foundation, and New Era Academy in the Baltimore City Public School System; and as a Coach for multiple sports at Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School, Maritime Academy, National Academy Foundation, and the New Era Academy. Coach Garfield was also the Coordinator of Track and Field and Cross-Country for Baltimore City Recreation and Parks.

Ms. Lashawn Evans
Dwight S. Warren is the Executive Director Emeritus of the McKim Center and the McKim Community Association, Inc. From 1975-2021, he was a pioneer for peace and wellness education through athletics as the head of the McKim Center. Mr. Warren is a graduate of Morgan State University and an iconic athletic director, physical education teacher, and wrestling coach whose cerebral approach to sports have advanced the highest ideals for thoughtful, reflective sportsmanship for decades. In 2020, the Maryland State Wrestling Association honored Mr. Warren with the Johnny Eareckson Award for Lifetime Service. He continues to coach wrestling at Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School in his 70s. 
Ms. Lashawn Evans is a Center Support and Family Liaison Specialist at the McKim Center. Ms. Lashawn grew up at McKim and rose to help maintain the center's out-of-school-time programming for almost 30 years. She engages with the families that reside in the housing communities around the McKim Center and supports the operations of the center. A mother and a grandmother, Ms. Lashawn has uplifted the lives of hundreds of children as one of the mainstays within the center's programming.
McKim Center Educational and Health Services Partner
Led by Upāsikā Miss tree turtle, the Baltimore Wisdom Project of Wisdom Projects, Inc. serves as the McKim Center's Educational and Health Services Partner in a longtime partnership involving program co-direction, teaching, healing services, and institutional support.
